Momentum

04.28-05.05.21

Sometimes it seems we’ve just been standing still.
Yet our world is starting to open back up. While the Cleveland Flea is no longer, Maker Town Markets are springing up at Hingetown Sundays starting in late May. The CV Scenic Railroad resumes routes through the CVNP. Ballet Theatre of Ohio does a live, distanced Cinderella at the Akron Civic. Cle Photo Fest presents the two-month long Photothon 2021 starting May 1 at the Bostwick Art Design Initiative. Vanity Crash opens up BOP STOP’s outdoor patio for the season this Friday with a live and loud in-person concert. And there are plenty of safe, streamed, virtual events to keep the momentum moving forward. A new cable show is a promising venue for local independent filmmakers, the Akron Symphony presents on online benefit, BW students show a streamed fantasy production, Blank Canvas performs live from behind windows, and Tri-C JazzFest streams a virtual concert for International Jazz Day.

You’ll enjoy our cool video with Akron high schoolers Detention, streaming in residence at Jilly’s, who’ve already visited L.A., gone backstage with the Black Keys, and kept their own forward progress going by creating music videos and writing new material. Forward ho, baby!
