CMA/Lit Cleveland Virtual Program Offers Poem Inspired by Artwork

Wed 5/5 @ noon

This spring, Literary Cleveland has been partnering with the Cleveland Museum of Art for its Desktop Dialogue: An Art Anthology series to present various local storytellers offering their thoughts on objects in the museum’s current Stories from Storage exhibition.

Chapter 4, taking place on May 5, features poet Kamden Hilliard offering a new work he write inspired by Kara Walker’s expansive collage drawing “The Republic of New Afrika at a Crossroads.” Hilliard will also talk with curator Key Jo Lee about the poem and how it ties into the histories that fuel Walker’s work.
