The 65-year-old Cleveland Arts Prize has announced its 2025 winners, with prizes awarded in emerging (writer Ali Black), mid-career (classical guitarist Jason Vieaux) and lifetime achievement (visual artist Mark Howard) categories, as well as four special prizes for supporters of the arts. They’ll be officially awarded at a ceremony/party on October 22.
The Cuyahoga County Public Library Foundation has announced the programs for its 2025-26 Writers Center Stage series talking place at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. It will feature six authors in diverse literary genres, starting on September 26 with British novelist Ian McEwan.
As we previously mentioned, the least surprising news ever is that the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has extended its annual Asian Lantern Festival. Instead of closing August 24, the wildly popular annual event will run through September 13, with a special “Wild Ride” bike-through viewing September 14.

The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes finally holds its Art in the Park event that was postponed in July due to rain. Now you can shop more than 30 local artisans in a beautiful setting, while enjoying food, drinks and the outdoors.
