Cleveland teen punk rocker Jim Ellis launched his DIY ’zine CLE in the late 70s to feature all the bands he was excited about, local and national. He published issues into the early 80s, then returned to do a few more in the 90s.
He always retained passion for music though, and early this year, he founded CLE Records to release some of the music he’s discovering in today’s Clevland music scene, ranging from edgy noisemakers like Duo decibel System to the folk/Americana of singer/songwriter Doug McKean.
Come see what he’s into now at the Treelawn on Waterloo Road when he presents a CLE Records Fall Festival showcase. Bands include Kiss Me Deadly, Moon Echo Garden, Duo Decibel System, Non Bruises, Awesome Quest, Dave Swanson’s Mystery Airship and Doug McKean.
