One World Day is a celebratory rebuke to those who think the U.S. is stronger by getting rid of people from other countries. The 80th annual One World Day at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens showcased the music, food, art, costumes and people from around the world who have come to Cleveland to help make it a stronger and more diverse place. The event kicked off with the Naturalization ceremony where two dozen people from countries ranging from from Australia to Nepal to Peru were sworn in. That was followed by the Parade of Flags, where more than 50 nations showed off the colorful, spirited cultures, with delegations ranging from 3 or 4 people to 100. The rest of the day featured entertainment, crafts, food, drink and camaraderie at the various gardens where visitors could learn more about their countries and when and why they came to Cleveland. We even got to meet polka legend Kathy Hlad!
