Fri 7/03 @ 6PM
Starting this week and continuing throughout 9.11 , the new Van Aken District is presenting the Van Aken Beer Garden pop-up on alternate Fridays this summer. From 6-10PM, come out to Shaker Heights and savor the beautiful 2015 Cleveland summer. Get a taste of the new 8,000 square foot parking lot (at Farnsleigh and Warrensville Center Roads), as it’s transformed into a lively beer garden at the Van Aken Center.
Experience the possibilities and get a sneak peak of the new Van Aken District destination in advance. The much-anticipated groundbreaking is in 2016, but you can relish in the development as the groundbreaking unfolds. Complete with ice cold craft beers, picnic tables, savory food trucks, live music and games like corn hole and ping-pong for the kids, this will be a giant block party with friends and neighbors you won’t want to miss.
“The Beer Garden events are a great way to bring residents to the district. We are grateful to RMS Investment Corporation for inviting the community to these creative and fun summer parties,” says Shaker Heights Mayor Earl M. Leiken.
Proceeds from the sale of beer will benefit local nonprofit organizations, including Shaker Historical Society, Ludlow, Lomond and Sussex Community Associations, North Union Farmer’s Market, Shaker Arts Council, League of Women Voters and the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes.
The event series will occur rain or shine, with the beer garden moving inside of Van Aken Center if the weather is inclement. The event is free to attend, and of course items will be available for purchase.
Friday Beer Garden dates are as follows. Each evening will be from 6-10PM.
