Remember who promised that if you voted for him your cost of living would come down the day he took office? Yeah. No. According to the president, the term “affordability” is a “fake narrative” and a “hoax,” made up by Democrats who don’t appreciate how much he’s made the prices of everything drop.
But according to a recent Harris Poll, 95% of Americans believe affordability is an issue, with rent, groceries, gas, childcare and health care all challenging their budgets. Just in the past year, tariffs and the war in Iran have wiped out most wage increase gains.
“The Happy Dog Takes On…” series, co-sponsored by the City Club and taking place at the Happy Dog in Gordon Square, will kick off its 12th season by looking at how affordability issues are impacting Northeast Ohio. Panelists include Jennifer Kons of the United Way of Great Cleveland, Jessica Semachko of the greater Cleveland Food Bank, and Tiffany Scruggs, chief of community services for the City of Cleveland.
