CMA Mix Party Celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Culture

Fri 5/1 @ 6-10PM

One of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s most popular events is its first Friday adults-only MIX parties where guests can dance in the Atrium, try some of the special food and drinks available for purchase, and check out the art — the galleries are open and special exhibits are free with a MIX ticket.

Each month has a theme, and this month celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander culture and the Year of the Horse. The event is curated and cohosted by Zosimo Maximo and APT345 Productions. Sidney Im from Elyria’s Cambodian American Buddhist Association will kick things off at 6pm with the traditional Cambodian welcoming dance Robam Chuon Por (Blessing Dance), followed by dance performances from the LingYun Rising Star Gymnastics Dance School and Stellar Acrobatic Dance Academy. At 6:30 Aimon Ali of the Fashion Talks Foundation will do a pop-up fashion presentation. In between Dj Sach (6:30pm), DJ SceneAmatiX (7pm) and DJ Zosimo Maximo (8:15pm) will do sets of house/techno music.

Drinks and food will be in keeping with the Asian theme, and guests are invited to come dressed to match, if they choose. The events is 21 and over. Get tickets here.
