Colombian band Monsieur Periné is described as a “musical laboratory,” referencing its adventurous blend of pop and jazz with Latin sounds such as guaracha, cumbia, bolero and salsa. The group, led by Catalina García and Santiago Prieto Sarabia, was formed in 2007 and released its debut album Hecho a Mano in 2012, giving it a pathway to recognition well beyond its native country. It won the Latin Grammy for best new artist in 2015 and has been nominated for both Latin and U.S. Grammy awards in categories such as record, album and song of the year, and best Latin rock urban or alternative album categories. Its 2023 album Bolero Apocalíptico (2023) won the Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album.
After an international tour last year, it’s now touring with a new release, Instruccciones para Ser Feliz. And it will make its Cleveland debut at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium. Go here for tickets.
