You can feel fall in your bones now, with nighttime temperatures dipping into the 40s. But that means it’s a great time for a bike ride — no danger of overheating. And each week until the end of October, Slow Roll Cleveland hosts one of its comfortably paced social bike rides for people of all ages, experience and abilities, rolling out of a different Cleveland neighborhood each week for a ten-mile exploration of the area.
This week it rolls out of Hough’s League Park the historical baseball field where professional baseball was played back in the days before teams figured out how to soak taxpayers for their stadiums. It’s so bucolic you almost think you’re in rural Iowa. It’s only one pleasant surprise you’ll have while riding through Hough which is still shedding the stigma of the Hough Riots 60 years later.
Start to assemble at 6 (take a walk around and look at the ballpark); it rolls out at 7. And don’t forget your bike lights — it’s getting dark earlier!
