The pawpaw is Ohio’s official state native fruit, which grows all across the state, relatively free from diseases and pests. Its fruit ripens to edibility in the late summer. Although they’re not front and center in grocery stores, they’re very nutritious!

Learn more about this fruit at Pawpaw Appreciation Night at Summit Metro Parks Liberty Park Nature Center. A nature expert will share pawpaw’s history and how to grow it. And participants will also get to sample it, and get recipes and seeds to take home.
