Akron Art Museum Hosts Jazz Age-Themed Party

Fri 2/13 @ 7:30-11PM

The Akron Art Museum has a jazzy party planned for the night before Valentine’s Day.

You can bring your sweetheart, friends or just come alone and enjoy some of the many activities taking place at Circa Jazz. Local Akron quartet the Decos will be providing the soundtrack as vocalist/guitarist/keyboard player Jen Maurer (Mo’Mojo), sax player Kaiden Box, double bass player Lovest Watson and drummer/vocalist Erik Diaz play traditional jazz tunes you can dance to — there’ll even be the opportunity to learn the Charleston. If you want to dress up in roaring ’20s regalia, you’ll be right in the spirit of things.

And that’s not all. There’ll be artmaking activities such as screen printing and making items such as headbands and boutonnieres, and you can take part in a mystery-solving activity. And the galleries will be open to check out the current special exhibit, Alfred McMoore: All This Luck in my Head, and the new show, Transfiguration: Rachel Libeskind and the Tiffany Window.

Drinks will be available for purchase, unless you buy a VIP ticket which includes an open bar, free parking and a VIP lounge. Go here for all ticket levels.
