“Take a Hike” and Learn Some Cleveland History on a Walking Tour

Sun 6/1-Tue 9/30

The Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation (HGNC)’s 2025 summer Take a Hike tours are in full swing, providing opportunities to learn more about Cleveland history through its architecture and urban landscape.

The 90-minute walking tours run from June through September 30 with 17 different tours to choose from, led by knowledgeable storyteller guides. The June-July series offers a different tour for each day of the week (and two each on Sunday and Wednesday).

Most tours are free, but some may require advance registration due to their popularity.  Start the week on Monday with an Ohio City tour, followed on Tuesday by a tour of the dense, still thriving Little Italy neighborhood. On Wednesday tours visit Public Square and the Malls, and the North Coast Harbor. On Thursday you can walk through the Erie Street Cemetery. Visit Veterans Memorial Bridge on Fridays and Wade Oval on Saturdays, and conclude the week on Sunday with a choice of strolling through Playhouse Square or taking an architecture tour which steps off from Rising Star coffee at 412 Superior.
