Next time you find yourself shlepping around Slavic Village looking for something interesting to do, check out the Harvard Jewish Cemetery for a truly unique experience. It is located directly east of and butts right against Harvard Grove Cemetery.
Upon entering the grounds, you are instantly transported to another place and time. This old, over-grown lot emerges before you with row after row of ornate headstones reaching up over the tops of the uncut weeds. No manicured lawns, tidy flower beds and winding pathways here.
This small graveyard is flat and crammed with burial sites that date back into the early 1800s. Some stones are so old they are no longer readable. Take some time and look for familiar names.
