VeloSano is a program that raises money for cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic through bicycle rides. Its main event, Bike to Cure, is coming up on September 18 and 19 when cyclists will ride everything from a short urban loop to a 100-mile ride to engage cyclists of all levels of skill, stamina and experience.
Of course legendary Cleveland cyclist/artists Michael Gill (known for being founder/publisher/editor of visual arts quarterly CAN Journal as well as his striking woodcut prints, many of which involve bicycles) is taking part in this effort. He’s hosting a fundraiser for the VeloSano team Velo Vino called Art on Wheels, a one-night cycling-themed art show raking place at the Barn at Dunham Tavern Museum. Two of Gill’s own woodcuts (see below) will be available along with photomontage works by photographer Greg Donley, watercolors by jeff Suntala and painting by Hector Vega. There’ll be wine, beer and other refreshments. Get free tickets HERE. You can also pre-order art at that link.
