Korea’s Insane Park & the Generals performed as the second concert in Cleveland Museum of Art’s City Stages series, taking place on an outdoor stage in Ohio City’s Hingetown neighborhood. The five-piece ensemble blended Korean traditional music with heavy, driving rock & roll and augmented their performance with costumes, props and masks. Singer Park was a dynamo who incorporated elegant dance moves into her presentation, and even made a game of showing off their available merchandise on stage, chanting “Please buy, please buy.” The line at the merch table was very long! As usual, the street was packed with both listeners and dancers, and the only complaint we heard was that there needs to be more than two such concerts per season.
