Smack dab in the middle of Slavic Village’s industrial area of Broadway at the intersection with Wire you’ll find a bold new mural depicting industry through its various stages. It starts on the right side and shows the industrial process, from mining the raw materials, through the manufacturing and production processes and culminating on the left with Planet Earth.
The mural is painted along the side of a warehouse, on the Wire side of the intersection. Some of that wall was not suitable as a painting surface, so metal panels were installed, which heat up on very hot days and must cooled with buckets of water prior to applying the paint. The artist — John Rivera-Resto — is up for the job though and he is not working alone on this project.
