Jackie Larkins turned her Mayfield Road coffee shop Café Phix, in South Euclid, into a hangout, with live music, improv comedy, book clubs and rotating art shows, or just a place to read the books and newspapers provided or play chess.
She closed the shop in 2018 during construction at the adjacent Marc’s plaza. But she soon reopened in the Midtown Corridor at the MidTown Tech Hive in early 2019 offering an extensive menu of specialty coffee drinks, along with bagels and pastries from local businesses such as Bloom Bakery and Cleveland Bagels. She’s also continued to showcase local artists and host social events.
