With the pandemic raging, it might be difficult to find peace this season. But as usual, our region rises to the challenge, this time around with holiday tunes, fun in the snow and potato pancakes. Of course, it’s best to confirm before heading out, as everything is subject to radical change.Music always lifts the spirits: from hip-hop at the Grog, to reggae at the Music Box, to 16th-century classical music on ideastream, you should be able to find something to groove to. The Cleveland Metroparks toboggan chutes are open every day, as is the ice skating rink at Wade Oval. Celebrate the season with a repast in an igloo at Merwin’s Wharf or latkes served up to the accompaniment of Blue Lunch.
If all else fails, we can recommend a sure thing: celebrating David Bowie’s birthday with us in a couple weeks: last-minute tickets would make a great gift. We could also suggest a tranquil self-guided tour in the woods, like the kind that Summit Metro Parks is offering. You might find that peace comes from within.
