Main Street Kent’s Dragon’s Merry Christmas Story Walk continues through Monday December 27, a chance for families to explore downtown Kent’s many businesses and eateries while enjoying window displays featuring scenes from Dav Pilkey’s 1991 book Dragon’s Merry Christmas, about a dragon who ends up giving his presents away to people who need them more.
And while you’re there, you can check out the new public art work, located on North Water Street, right before the Fairchild Bridge. Main Street Kent design committee members Alex Catanese and Lesley Sickle worked with Kent’s Each + Every Design Studio to bring the project to life, with Sean Mercer designing and fabricating the structure and Taryn McMahon creating the graphics inside the piece’s letters.
The piece will offers downtown Kent walkers the inevitable selfie op, which Main Street Kent urged them to post using the hashtag #kentohart.
