Wed 12/22 @ 8PM
In early December, Cleveland’s professional early-music vocal group Quire Cleveland returned to live performing with its first holiday offering in two years.
Carols for Quire XI: Mary’s Song featured many familiar carols along with three 16th-century settings of the Magnificat, Mary’s song of praise to the Lord, which the group’s description refers to as “a call to awaken our collective souls and spirits to bask in renewed life through the sounds of the human voice!”
Perhaps you weren’t able to get to one of the three performances around the area or didn’t feel comfortable doing so with the COVID surge. Or maybe if you did, you’ll like to re-live the experience. Fortunately, ideastream will be airing the concert on the WCLV Cleveland Ovations broadcast on Wednesday December 22 @ 8pm. The broadcast includes John Simna’s interview with Quire Cleveland artistic director Jay White.
It’ll be available for listening on all its platforms and won’t be archives or available after this airing. Access the broadcast here. You can also access and download the program booklet here.
