In addition to its regular season, multi-week productions, Tremont’s little cutting-edge theater convergence-continuum also presents its Verum Projects series, new plays usually by local authors given one-weekend runs to try them out in front of a live audience.
This weekend General Knowledge by actor/musician/writer Calvin Adkins will be onstage at c-c’s home, the Liminis. Adkins also directs the play, described as “queer, messy and dark, full of both laugher and drama.” The synopsis shares that “Trivia captain Lorelei, her girlfriend Delia Dahlia, her sister Tuesday, and their friend Aster are living four to an apartment, anxiously anticipating the regional finals their team has been invited to compete in. With five thousand dollars on the line, plus ten thousand more if they advance and win the national competition, the team is practicing hard. But when Tuesday unexpectedly invites her boyfriend to move in — the night before the competition, no less — the disruption brings old tension and big secrets to a boiling point.”
