From mid April to mid June, one of the most beautiful spots in Cleveland is the Willott Iris Garden at the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse. There iris enthusiasts maintain a lavish garden with walking paths and benches to display some 200 different types of irises in an array patterns, sizes and colors well beyond what you’ll ever find at a garden center. The best part is that if you come when volunteers are working they’ll take you over to their sales array where you can purchase pots of iris tubers for you own garden. But hurry: many varieties are already done for the season and you don’t have much time to catch the later ones in bloom. Rockefeller Greenhouse is open almost every day of the year from 10am-4pm — and it’s free. You have no excuse!
