Sat 10/10 @ noon-8PM
Come to downtown Kent on Saturday October 10 for the Kent Oktoberfest to celebrate the beauty and bounty of autumn, as well as German food, beer, live entertainment and more.
The day kicks off at 11:30am with the Wurst 5K & Brat Trot one-mile walk, starting at Heritage Park, where you can burn up some calories to prepare for the eating and drinking you’ll be doing later. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes! Register HERE.
Throughout the day, there’ll be seasonal beers available and hearty, German-style food and snacks provided by numerous local bars and restaurants. On the Hometown Bank Plaza stage at the center of town, there’ll be entertainment, with polka from Patty C & The Guys from noon-2pm, German Family Society Dancers at 1 and 2pm, rock & roll by the Jack Fords from 3-5pm and Country Honk from 6-8pm.
There’ll also be some German-style fun: steinholding competitions at Hometown Bank Plaza at 2:30 and 5:30pm, with separate men’s and women’s contests. The competition is open to those 21 and over. Register HERE.
