Once again, since 2016, the City Club is taking its act outside for the summer, with another series of free forums on the Playhouse Square Plaza across from its office, moderated by City Club CEO Dan Moulthrop.
This year’s theme, in keeping with the U.S.’s 250th birthday celebration, the theme is “We the People.” It will focus on people and organizations in the community who are fighting to keep our democracy functional.
The first event will be an Open Mic Forum, where each pre-selected speaker (submissions were accepted through June 22) will have five minutes to share on their chosen topic, followed by a question from the audience.
Subsequent forums will address “Theater for Every Community” (July 8) (in connection with the BorderLight Theater Festival which starts at Playhouse Square that day); “The Power of Women and the American Promise (July 15); “One Cleveland: The Pepple and Stories That Connect Us” (July 22); and “How Things Really Get Done at the Ohio Statehouse” (July 29).
