CoolCleveland’s Thomas Mulready met with John Kulewicz, who is running for Ohio Attorney General, at Lakewood Public Library where the candidate spoke to the Lakewood Democratic Club.
The Attorney General is the chief law officer in the state, responsible for enforcing anti-trust legislation to consumer fraud and wage theft.
As for the politicization of the position in other states an nationally. Kulewicz says, “One big difference is I would stop all the focus on culture war cases. I would want to bring all those people home, literally and figuratively to Ohio and from Day One, put them to work fighting consumer fraud, fighting wage theft, unlawful discrimination, fighting nursing home fraud and fighting things that matter to us in Ohio.”
He has visited all 88 Ohio counties, and as a swimmer, he has swum in pools all across the state, talking to a wide cross section of people representing “all races, creeds, color, jobs, income, education levels,” with some leaving a lasting impression.
