Lake Erie Ink & Mac’s Backs Host a “Pocket Poetry” Workshop for Kids of All Ages

Sat 4/27 @ 10:30AM-12:30PM

In case you hadn’t heard, April is National Poetry Month. It’s a good time to re-read all those old favorite poems you haven’t read since college — or to attend one of the many poetry events going on around town, this month and every month. Kids can stop in at Mac’s Backs in Coventry Village to check out Pocket Poetry, hosted by Cleveland Heights-based youth writing organization Lake Erie Ink, open to youth of all ages.

In slightly late honor of National Poem in Your Pocket Day (April 18), which encourages people to carry around a poem and share it with whoever they run into, this workshop will help kids create their own poems to share with others. Adam James Zahren, Lake Erie Ink’s Ink Spot coordinator will be facilitating the workshop, helping to guide participants into expressing in verse whatever’s in their hearts and minds.

Admission is $10 at the door; scholarships are available. This workshop is open to youth of all ages. Register at lakeerieink.org/register.
