Akron’s Harris Stanton Gallery opens two new shows this week. The show Aweiward (a Middle English word meaning “on a different path”) celebrates the coming of spring with the nature-inspired work of Toledo-based ceramicist Kristin Kowalski and landscape paintings and pastels by Peninsula artist Jim Rehmus, a former physician who has published a book of pastel drawings of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The show opens with a meet-the-artists reception Fri 3/18 from 5:30-8pm, where the artists will give a brief talk at 6:30 and answer questions. It remains on view through Sat 4/23.
