The Gallery at Lakeland Community College is presenting its From Woman IX, its ninth group show of work by and about women artists. Curated by gallery director Mary Urbas, the show features 148 works by 34 local and regional artists such as Betty Skufca, whose work is pictured above, working in almost every medium you can name. They include such well-known area artists as Laurel Herbold, Judy Takacs, Deborah Silver, Tricia Kaman, Marilyn Szalay, JenMarie Zeleznak and Jaymi Zents.
The show opened Sun 2/28 and runs through Fri 4/1. But the artist reception is this Sun 3/6 from 3:30-5PM at the Gallery. The annual Woman of Achievement Awards ceremony will take place in the Performing Arts Center at 2pm.
The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9am-9pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm.
