NOADA

Thu 5/7 – Sat 5/10

The Northern Ohio Art Dealers Association (NOADA) will host its annual public exhibition, ARTExpo May 7th – May 10th at the Transformer Station (1460 West 29t Street) in Hingetown.

“We are excited to introduce our member galleries and dealers to the fine arts patrons in this area,” says Diane Schaffstein, Co-President of NOADA. “Also, we are equally excited to continue our ongoing relationship with the Transformer Station by presenting our third ARTExpo in this wonderful gallery space. It has been great to witness the growth and enthusiasm surrounding our event since re-introducing the ARTExpo in 2012.” Schaffstein continues, “Our member galleries and dealers will be exhibiting a cross section of historic, regional, international and contemporary paintings, along with drawings, fine prints, photography, fiber art and sculpture. It is an opportunity to view these works up close and spend time with the gallery and dealer representatives. Also, our venue, the Transformer Station, is a work of art on its own. It is one of Cleveland’s finest examples of gallery space reclaimed from industrial beginnings.”

NOADA is an association of Ohio fine art galleries and dealers formed to promote professionalism in the marketing and sale of fine art. Concurrent to this goal, the objective is to provide education efforts to the public, relating to the sale and collecting of original artwork. The NOADA ARTExpo 2015 exhibition provides educational programming, while showcasing its members and their fine offerings.

“We are offering more educational programming this year,” says Diane. “The Intermuseum Conservation Association (ICA) will be holding an open house at 2915 Detroit Avenue from 1PM to 4PM on Friday, May 8th, which is right across from the entrance of the Transformer Station. Visitors can tour the lab facilities for free to see behind the scenes areas and meet the conservators of paintings, paper, objects and textiles. Also, we will be holding a fine art collectors panel discussion on Saturday, May 10th at 1:30PM at the BOP Stop (2920 Detroit Avenue). The panelists will include moderator, Jan Driesbach of the Akron Art Museum, Bellamy Printz of the Cleveland Clinic Art Collection, Kristin Rogers of the Progressive Insurance Art Collection and private collector Dr. Jon Logan. These panelists will discuss aspects of developing art collections and respond to audience inquiries.”

The ARTExpo 2015 will be open to the public Thursday, May 7th through Sunday, May 10th. A Preview Gala will be Thursday evening from 5PM to 9PM. Tickets for Thursday’s Preview Gala are $50. General admission tickets are $10 and will be 11AM to 5PM, Friday and Saturday and from 12PM to 5PM Sunday. General admission and Preview Gala tickets are available at the door. Secure parking will be available around the corner throughout the ARTExpo, as well as valet parking will be available during Thursday’s Preview Gala.

“Anyone who is interested in viewing the work of artists represented by quality galleries from the area and the state should come out. This is a unique opportunity to see so much fine work in one space. This is also a great way to check out the Hingetown neighborhood, take a walk around the area and check out the new venues that have recently opened,” Diane concludes
