The Wine Spot on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights opened in a former hardware store just before Christmas in 2011 as a retail shop for craft beer and boutique wines. It soon got a full license so people could order a glass of wine, sit at a table in the spacious room and hang out with friends and family.
From the beginning owner Adam Fleischer saw the Wine Spot as a cultural asset to the community as well. He struck an agreement with the Cleveland Institute of Art to have students provide rotating exhibits and he worked with Cleveland ChamberFest and area singer/songwriters and indie rockers to bring in free live music occasionally The Wine Spot also hosts special events such as chef demos and beer and wine tastings.
