The Harvest Fest is back in Lakewood after one of the longest pandemic hiatuses we’ve seen yet — seven years!
The event, taking place on the porch of the Lakewood Public Library’s main branch on Detroit, is hosted by the Lakewood Earth and Food Community (LEAF). There’ll be diverse food available from ice cream to fresh produce: Trikeable Treats will be giving away free ice cream treats, and you can preorder a CityFresh share to be picked up at the event. There will be other vendors on hand as well, including artists, bakers, a tarot reader, composting experts, and Lakewood gardeners who are invited bring extra produce to trade or sell. Also, those with saved seeds or extra perennials should bring them along as well to share or trade.
Guitarist/vocalist John Lucic will be on hand to provide the soundtrack with his blues, swing and pop, and you can bring a T-shirt of tote to screenprint, with the help of Future Ink Graphics’ Stephanie Kluk. A kid Zone will offer face painting (a legal requirement, it seems), cornhole and other fun activities, and a photo booth with an autumn backdrop will be available for photos.
