The sounds of jazz are filling the Bop Stop once again. After being dark for many years, the former owners donated the beautiful facility, built from the ground up as a serious music listening room, to the Cleveland Music Settlement, which uses it for classes, meetings, recitals, and other educational programs.
But on some evenings now, you’ll find a jazz event open to the public, featuring artists like Cleveland alto sax player Bobby Selvaggio. He’s a busy man. He’s the director of jazz studies at Kent State University, a composer and arranger, a recording artist and the bandleader of several projects, each with a different slant.
The group he’s bringing to the Bop Stop for this show is his No Words Quintet which includes, in addition to Selvaggio himself, trombonist Sam Blakeslee, pianist Theron Brown, bassist Cory Todd and drummer Dustin May.
Admission is $10.
