The time to get your garlic in the ground is … NOW (or in the next few weeks). Luckily, Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, the family-owned organic farm in Huron, is hosting its annual Garlic Fest this weekend.
There’ll be vendors there selling seed garlic (no, don’t plant garlic from the grocery—it’s not designed for that), as well as garlic planting demos at 11:30am and 1:30pm that will offer complete instructions on how to plant, grow, and harvest healthy garlic. But there’s much, much more. From 10am-5pm there will be vendors in both the retail greenhouse and the barn selling an array of locally made food products, such as pastas, popcorn, honey and baked good, handmade crafts (jewelry, body products birdbaths, candles and other décor) and more. Mulberry Creek will have house plants, bonsai succulents and Halloween decors.
The Naughty Lobstah food truck will be onsite from noon to 7pm. And the greenhouse and winery will be open from noon to 8pm, with wine facility tours at 2:30 and 4:30pm.
There’s no admission charge.
