Tue 10/20 @ 7:30PM
Tuesday isn’t the liveliest night of the week, but down at the BOP STOP, the energy can really start flowing once the musicians take to the stage for the third Tuesday monthly Outlab: Experiments in Improvised Music jam session.
What could be coming from that stage could be anything from dreamy soundscapes to flat-our ear-assaulting noise. It depends on who shows up and what kind of chemistry they have with the other musicians who show up. Musicians of all levels of experience and skill — and an adventurous spirit— are invited to come down and bring musical instruments or any sound-making device (drums and keyboard are provided but bring your own amp if you need one) to join in a collective group improvisation. If you don’t play, come and listen!
They don’t have “rules” — it’s freeform, after all — but they do have suggested “guidelines”: “1) to direct our explorations along the most productive and positive lines, and 2) to engage the widest possible variety of individuals from Greater Cleveland’s rich and diverse music scenes.”
Admission is free although donations will be gratefully accepted.
