Chicago’s Empty Pockets Return to the Music Box to Share a New Album with a Message for Billionares

Fri 10/23 @ 7:30PM

Chicago roots/pop quartet The Empty Pockets have made a name for themselves both in their hometown and on the road (including Cleveland where they’ve built a fan base) with their amiable, loose-limbed folk/jam music that for some reason is often slotted into the blues category (There’s a little influence there as there is in pretty much all rock-based music but it’s not overt.

The group has already released a bunch of album (nearly a dozen) and this very week, they’re releasing a new one, on the exact same day they return to the Music Box Supper Club. It’s called Dear Billionaires, and it has some salient commentary on where things are politically and socially right now with the corruption and the ultra-wealthy trying to seize control of everything we have. They share that they recorded the album in two days live with no overdubs so the passion is pure.
