Each year for more than two decades, Standing Rock Cultural Arts in Kent has hosted its Dia de los Muertos art exhibit in its North Water Street gallery.
Its 24th annual show, which opens Saturday October 31, will feature a host of artists familiar and new, working in a variety of mediums, including Pepe Martinez, Greta Ramey, Trey Berry, Kathryn Lawson, Amanda Lanier, Martyn Flunoy, Jeannette Bill-Cole, Vince Packard “and more,” leaving open the possibility of surprises. It’s also the 34thanniversary of the SRCA Arts gallery. The free, public reception will feature Mariachi Santa Cecilia performing at 7pm and maybe they’ll play a mariachi version of “Happy Birthday!”
The show will remain on view through November 28. Regular gallery hours are noon-5pm Thursday-Saturday.
