The Cleveland Orchestra’s Recital Series, which features touring musicians and does not include the orchestra, is presenting a trio of much-travelled world-class musicians this week: Georgian violinist Lisa Batiashvili, French cellist Gautier Capuçon, and French pianist Jean Yves Thibaudet. They’re currently touring the country doing recitals as a trio.
The program they’re touring includes Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 1, written in 1923 when he was just 17; Claude Debussy’s 1880 Piano Trio in G, written when the composer was just 18; and Antonín Dvořák’s 1883 Piano Trio No. 3. (Dvořák’s is a mature work: he was in his 40s). Go HERE for tickets.
