Hispanic Heritage month runs from September 15-October 15, and right in the middle are two celebrations at major local institutions.
The Rock Hall will be hosting a free Saturday afternoon event on October 3 with local entertainers and organizations. Performers include Grupo Son Gitano, 2026 Rock Hall artist in residence Carlo Michel, and DJ Fuse1 spinning vinyl. There will also be information and activity tables hosted by Avanzamos Unidos, LatinUs Theater, Esperanza Inc, the Spanish American Committee, Latin Dance Studio, Mine Angel Collections, Alnairis’s Custom, Alicia Vasquez art booth and free facepainting, Future Ink Graphics hosting live poster printing, the Latina Image Leadership Program from Julia de Burgos Culture Arts Center, and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) hosted by NEOHCED. That evening, Severance Music Center will be hosting its Hispanic Heritage Month event with Claudio DeLeon hosting, DJ IamYulissa spinning pre-concert music, and classical guitarist Danelis Cedeño Calderón playing pre-concert music.
Then Fusión Latina, featuring Colombian vocalist Ale Almanza, acordeonera Mai Zambrano, and a12-piece ensemble, will play music from throughout South and Central America: salsa, cumbia, vallenato, merengue, traditional Venezuelan drums.
Pre-concert dancing starts at 7 in the Grand Foyer with DJ IamYulissa, and classical guitar music on the front terrace by classical guitarist Danelis Cedeño Calderón.
