Sun 9/20 @ 10AM-4PM
The biggest event, and one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for Geauga County’s Rescue Village is its annual Woofstock, taking place at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field. It’s an event where your dog is the guest of honor!
All day long, there are activities and contests that revolve around dogs — and cater to dogs of various proclivities. There are games, athletic competitions and race courses for active dogs, and more laidback events for older and/or more sedentary dogs, such as “nicest smile,” “cutest tail,” “dog/owner lookalike,” a costume contest, and an ice cream eating contest, divided into three heats by dog size. There’s a full list of events going on all day, starting with the blessing of the animals at 10am. (There’s another at 12:30pm for the latecomers.)
Don’t have a dog but like to hang out with them, or just want to support this great no-kill shelter which rehomes everything from rabbits and hamsters to farm animals? There are food trucks, the Four Paws Beer Garden, live music by Jason Meyers and Word of Mouth. and kids’ activities, making for a great day outdoors, surrounded by happy pups. For masochists, there’s even a Browns watch party at 1pm.
Will there be adoptable dogs there as well? Do you really need to ask? This is a rescue! Go HERE for more information, get tickets and pre-register for events that require it (Most are walk-up.)
