Free Hingetown Jazz Fest Returns to Three Ohio City Venues

Sat 9/5 @ 2-9:15PM

The Hingetown Jazz Festival returns for the fourth year, offering a laidback day and evening of local music taking place at three venues around the corners of West 29th and Detroit: the BOP STOP, Saucy Brew Works and Jukebox.

Ten acts will play will play with slightly overlapping time slots, including the Evelyn Wright Trio who will kick things off at 2pm at the BOP STOP, Akron’s hybrid jazz ensemble JT’s Electrik Blackout, led by sax player Justin Tibbs, John Klayman’s Prism, the Jennifer James Trio, the Grace Blackford Quintet, the Steve Kortyka Trio, and student ensembles from Kent State University, Cleveland State University, Tri-C and Akron University. It’s a great way to check out some of the area’s most talented musicians at venues within a half block of each other — all for free.
