How time flies! The Music Box Supper Club opened on the West Bank of the Flats 12 years ago, activating the space at the south end of the buildings anchored on the north by Shooter’s. It gave Cleveland yet another club-sized music venue, with two spaces — upstairs and down — for music and other events, such as its weekly music brunches and its Cleveland Stories storytelling evenings. It also offered another available space for weddings, parties, benefits and special events, with a great view of the waterfront.
It’s holding a party to mark that anniversary. It’s free and open to the public. Music Box VIP members also get free food and drinks; if you’re not a member, there’ll be food and drink specials available for purchase. And there’ll be music by guitarist/vocalist Kevin T. Richards, one of Cleveland’s leading advocates for traditional American music including early jazz, acoustic blues, old-style country and ragtime. He’s played with a variety of ensembles including Bent String, Spyder Stompers, Hot Djang!, and the Night Owls.
Admission is free.
