Sing Out for Democracy is nonpartisan community sing-along held in honor of American 250, the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. People across the political spectrum are invited, in the hope that they will share a passion for protecting democracy and our rights as citizens.
Doors open at 6; the chorus performance starts at 6:30, led by a 56-voice chorus that has been rehearsing for the last few weeks. You can join them in singing such familiar tunes as “This Land Is Your Land,” “Lean on Me” and others. There will also be an opportunity to register to vote if you haven’t already done so — deadline is October 5! There’s a dessert reception following the concert at 7:30 where you can meet others also dedicated to protecting our rights, especially our right to free, fair elections.
The concert takes place at the Mandel Theatre at the Tri-C East campus. It’s free and open to all. Register HERE.
