There are so many “Touch a Truck” type events now, where kids can get up close and personal with construction equipment, emergency vehicles and the like, that businesses and organizations sponsoring them are adding new elements to sweeten the pot, even though it seems like the promise that she can climb onto an excavator is enough to make a kid’s eyes light up.
Meet the Machines, a free, outdoor vent at Legacy Village shopping center in Lyndhurst, offers the typical array of fire trucks, police cars, bucket trucks, front-end loaders and other working vehicles. But it also features games, music, dancing, prizes and more, hosted by RealPopFusion, vying to see if they can lure kids off that fire truck.
