Melted Wings Wintery, which takes its name from the Greek Icarus legend about the man who flew too close to the sun, opened in in an almost century-old Old Brooklyn brick storefront in June 2026.
It was started by five Greeks — family members and friends — who spent several years renovating the building and holding winemaking sessions in the basement. “What we’re making isn’t necessarily Greek wine — it’s wine made by Greeks,” says co-owner Nico Papafil on their website. Grapes are sourced from around the country. Stop in to taste a glass to enjoy with tapas or a charcuterie board, or buy a bottle from their store. They’re open Thursday-Saturday evenings.
