Since 2011, the nonprofit Bike Cleveland has been on the front line of promoting policies that create safer streets and cycling as both transportation and recreation.
Its big annual fundraiser, now in its 12th year, is its Bike Cleveland Fundo taking place in late summer — this year on Saturday, August 22. It offers thee different rides of different lengths so that cyclists of all ages, abilities and degrees of experience can participate, from the super-riders with the expensive bike and $100 water bottle to newbies.
They have three clearly marked courses with rider support — 10, 30 and 60 miles — so you can decide exactly how much cycling you’re up to. They all start and finish at the Cleveland Metroparks beach house at Edgewater Park where they’ll be a bunch of food trucks onsite so famished riders can purchase so lunch.
