Akron Civic Theatre’s Knight Stage will be filled with glitz and glamor when the lights come up on this year’s Miss Gay Akron pageant. It’s an event with roots in the 70s, but it became an annual event starting in the late 80s, and has been held yearly since.

The stage will be filled with area drag performers competing in four categories: burlesque presentation (non-judged), gown, Q&A and talent. The event will honor last year’s winner Veronika Katrell as she passes the crown on to the new queen.
