Cafe Everest

If you’d like to try something that’s both a little familiar and a little exotic, Café Everest, which opened in the Kamm’s Corners neighborhood in the summer of 2021, may be just the place for you. It specializes in food from the Himalayan country of Nepal, but much of the menu will be familiar to anyone who’s eaten in an Indian restaurant, as it combines those two cuisines from adjacent countries.

Look for chicken, goat and vegetarian dishes in various preparations and spiced according to the different traditions, including soups, skewers, noodle dishes and stew-like concoctions. You’ll likely recognize the traditional Indian selections such as samosas, curries, biryani and aloo gobi or take a chance on a Nepalese dish such as thukpa, sekwa, or sel roti. There’s even a chicken or veggie chow mein featuring pan-fried noodles. Coffees, teas, smoothies or even a chocolate shake are available to wash things down. Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is casual.
