Akron Art Museum Offers New Interactive Poster

Like many such institutions, the Akron Art Museum closed again when the pandemic surged, after a short reopening. But it keeps coming up with new ways to engage the public while it’s closed, such as its mail art show, which you can contribute to through February 1.

Now it’s come up with another such community-engaging program, this one interactive throughout the community. InterPlay: Art Play for All features a free poster that you can pick up at locations such as the Hudson Heinens and Highland Square’s Mustard Seed Market & Cafe (with more locations to be added) or order for free (with shipping charges) directly from the museum shop. But it’s not just any old poster, with a static image on paper. Scan the QR code with your phone and you’ll access digital features to play around with and alter the poster’s images.

The poster was designed by textile artist Adana Tillman, an Akron native. Go here for more info or to order your poster.
