It was a warm, sunny, absolutely perfect, day when members of “The Divine Nine” black sororities and fraternities converged on Public Square for a triumphant party with other supporters of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. It was particularly sweet for the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, whose members include Vice President Elect Harris. There was dancing, strutting, marching and picture-taking, words from various local politicians and activists, and general celebration as the results of the election became clear to all but the current president and his hardcore supporters.
